INT. CAR

Echo and Gustav sit in the rain in Gustav’s avocado green 1974 Volvo 240 Series. We hear the rain and the sound of the windshield wipers. One wiper blade is loose and drags across the window.  Gustav is wearing a Christmas turtleneck sweater and is drinking a Sonic Banana Creme Pie Shake, ironically. Echo is in an orange pea coat with a “Just say “No” to the Dolls of New York” pin attached. She is furiously doing something in her lap. Suddenly, she is done and she pulls up a paper chain shaped like anchors.

ECHO: Are your feet there?

GUSTAV: Yes. Are yours?

ECHO: I can’t feel them.

Gustav reaches down to touch her touch her feet. He sees a drivers license. The photo is of a girl with a bad haircut and acne.

GUSTAV: Who is Beth Rodgers?

All of the blood leaves Echo’s face.

ECHO: No one.

GUSTAV: It’s you. Isn’t it?

Echo runs from the car. She lays in the rain and tries to make snow angels. Gustav runs after her. He stares at her.  He yells:

GUSTAV: BETH

ECHO: No, no, no, no, no.

GUSTAV: BETH. MY NAME IS RONALD SKOPAL!

He lays down next to her in the empty parking spot. The car’s windshield wipers are still going.

ECHO: Please stop. It hurts to much to know.

GUSTAV: (singing) You’re my little dim sum, sum yum

ECHO: No

GUSTAV: (singing) I’ll eat you with a little hot oo ooo long.

ECHO: I’m frozen.

Gustav hugs her while she’s spread out like an X- having been frozen by his love mid snow/rain angel.
