WHIRL - Part 3
INT - THE WHIRL - THE PREVIOUS NIGHT
Echo walks into the dark indie club. She is wearing an oversized sweater that is belted and her hair is disheveled but purposeful. She see’s Gustav. She makes eye contact with him. He comes over.
Gustav: “Why?”
Echo: “Why not?”
Gustav:”Because you’re beautiful”
Echo: “You’re drunk”
Gustav: “No, I’m stoned. But I’m right”
Echo: “Stop this. I came her for music”
Gustav: “Well, I’d better give you some”
Gustav puts down his PBR and walks on stage. He picks up the mic three guys in skinny jeans and Keds join him. One of them is drummer Jesse Hoy from the Deadly Syndrome. Will Etling, also from The Deadly Syndrome, sits at a vintage 70’s Yamaha keyboard and simulatenously plays guitar. Gustav starts singing. Echo’s jaw drops.She did not know he was the lead singer of her favorite band, Degeulasse.His voice is like Ian Curtis and his mannerisms, like Patti Smith.
Echo mouths to him “You”
This back and forth eye flirting continues until after the band is done.

Echo giggles. She grabs Gustav’s hands. She places a piece of paper inside and closes his hand. He opens the paper. It reads “Follow me to Neverland”
