My gym is full of stupids, but they’re so busy playing it cool, you never see them doing really dumb stuff. But tonight, one of them did something I could not believe.
Some guy thought it was a good idea to do squats while standing on a large, round ab ball and holding, in each hand, 20 pound weights, while in the section of the gym floor intended for stretching and abs,a section covered in a soft mat flooring So, he is standing on a ball intended for rolling around on and the two things on his body he could use to stabilize himself, his arms and hands, are holding 40 additional pounds outside his center. Also, he’s doing this on a squishy fucking floor.
I was on another ab ball, doing sit ups, and I rolled myself out of his way and into a spot where I could stare without him seeing me.
I saw this fall coming. I saw it coming so hard. What surprised me was that he did nothing to break his fall. Probably because it happened so fast. When he landed his weights were still in his hands. He fell hard too, cause it took him a second to register what had happened. And when he did register it, you know what that asshole did?
He got right back on.
